Compress to an exact target size

Need a photo under 100 KB for a form, a forum, or a job application? Switch the mode to Target size and type a number in kilobytes. ImageBloom automatically searches for the highest quality that still fits under your limit, so you get the smallest acceptable file without guesswork.

How to compress an image

1. Click Open the compressor above. 2. Drop your images (any mix of JPG, PNG or WebP). 3. Use Quality for a simple slider, or Target size to hit an exact KB limit. 4. Optionally resize to smaller dimensions for even bigger savings. 5. Download individually, all at once, or as a ZIP.

Tips for the smallest files

Converting to WebP usually gives the best size at a given quality. Resizing a huge photo (for example capping the width at 1600 px) is often the single biggest saving. For photographs, a quality of 75โ€“85% looks great while being far smaller than the original.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the image compressor free?

Yes โ€” free, no sign-up and no watermark.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Compression happens in your browser, so your images never leave your device.

Can I compress to under 100 KB (or any size)?

Yes. Choose Target size mode and enter your limit in KB; the tool fits each image under it.

Will compressing ruin the quality?

Not noticeably at sensible settings. Around 75โ€“85% quality usually looks identical to the original while being much smaller.
